More tries, more points, faster handling, technologically and statistically the best.
Webb Ellis was launched in January 2003 by Rod Webb and Lawrence Webb. The goal was to establish Webb Ellis as a recognised worldwide brand name in the world of rugby balls, rugby equipment and rugby teamwear.
Based at the home of the game, St.Matthew’s Street in Rugby, just 100 yards from where the game began, Webb Ellis proved the quality of their match balls by winning the contract to supply the Heineken Cup in 2003, meaning every top team in Europe playing with a Webb Ellis ball.
In 2006, the Welsh Rugby Union elected to use the Webb Ellis ball for their home internationals, which resulted in them lifting the Six Nations Championship in 2008 and winning a prestigious Grand Slam.
Since its inception, Webb Ellis has earned a reputation for supplying the most technologically advanced balls and equipment around the world and have distributors set up in Ireland, France, USA, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, making the superior Webb Ellis products available across the globe.
Webb Ellis also has a retail store in the town of Rugby, right next to the Webb Ellis Rugby Football Museum – a treasure trove of rugby memorabilia, where you can still witness hand-crafted leather balls being stitched on site, at the birthplace of the modern-day ball.
