Webb Ellis supporting Caludon Castle in Uganda

Webb Ellis was proud to support Africa Inspires on its latest trip, bringing the sport of rugby to the children.

When London was awarded the 2012 Olympics, Lord Coe made a promise that the games would reach out and inspire the youth of the world, and the Coventry 2012 Partnership was inspired to do just that, by creating Africa Inspires - a partnership that has extended well beyond 2012 itself.

“Twinning” five schools in Coventry with five schools from Kampala, the Africa Inspires Project aims to develop the capacity and skills of those in schools, whilst also serving to build and strengthen communities, both locally and internationally between Kampala and Coventry, all based around the two central themes of sports development and improving access to clean drinking water.

This year, Webb Ellis was pleased to donate balls, training items and excess clothing stock to Caludon Castle School, one of the schools involved in the project. They took the kit on to Family Primary School in Uganda, its twinned school, and distributed it amongst the youngsters.
