Proud to support Africa Inspires

Webb Ellis was proud to support Africa Inspires on its latest trip, bringing the sport of rugby to the children.

When London was awarded the 2012 Olympics, Lord Coe made a promise that these games would reach out and inspire the youth of the world, and the Coventry 2012 Partnership was inspired to do just that, by creating Africa Inspires - a partnership that will extend beyond 2012.

The Africa Inspires Project brings together five schools from Coventry with five schools from Kampala for an 18 month initial pilot project built around the two central themes of sports development and improving access to clean drinking water. The school ‘twinning’ is most central to the project objectives as this project aims to develop the capacity and skills of those in schools, whilst also serving to build and strengthen communities, both locally and internationally between Kampala and Coventry.

With regards to sport in particular, the project aims to build sports development and coach upskilling partnerships between Coventry and Kampala, so that young people can enjoy and thrive in their chosen sport, and use sport as a source of inspiration and friendship, as can be seen from these photos.
